Margaret Emerson

Margaret Emerson

Making art became a part of Margaret's identity and was nurtured in high school and college.

Her plan to be a full time artist changed when she was 20 years old, mostly because her parents were worried that she would not get a job in art; so she switched her studies to Nursing.

She describes nursing as "a wonderful career, but the minute I retired in 2008, I went back to making art."

Major influences in Margaret's art are having a studio at Western Avenue Studios in Lowell, MA and being a member of the Art2Life Academy.

In Margaret's words, "Art is an ever-evolving pursuit. Painting is my meditation and being creative is a major satisfaction in my life. The opportunity to learn new techniques and experimentation keeps me alive!"
